1. PARADIESPLATZ – Forum on the topic of prosperity and the limits to growth

Impressions from the first PARADIESPLATZ – Forum on the topic of „Prosperity and the limits to growth“. Despite the cold, the popcorn stock market rotated for a small but fine group of people. The stockbroker (Christian Rätsch) tempted people to make hot investments, most of which generated great returns – nothing less than 50%! – and a woman / rock star / journalist / revolutionary / politician (Sarah Bonitz) occasionally rocked the stage with thoughts on prosperity and the limits of growth. Visitors acquired the investment of a handful of golden maize kernels for the popcorn exchange from the Achivars by speaking personal thoughts on the subject of prosperity into a recording device. These recordings could then be heard as a sound installation on site at PARADIESPLATZ – Das Innere aus dem Inneren. It was worth listening!

1. PARADIESPLATZ – Forum zum Thema Wohlstand und Grenzen des Wachstums

Eindrücke vom ersten PARADIESPLATZ-Forum zum Thema „Wohlstand und Grenzen des Wachstums“. Trotz der Kälte rotierte die Popcornbörse für eine kleine aber feine Gruppe von Menschen. Der Börsenmakler (Christian Rätsch) verleitete zu heißen Anlagen, die meist große Renditen erzeugten – nichts unter 50%! – und eine Frau / Rockstar / Journalistin / Revolutionärin / Politikerin (Sarah Bonitz) rockte gelegentlich die Bühne mit Gedanken zu Wohlstand und den Grenzen des Wachstums. Die Investition einer Handvoll goldener Maiskörner für die Popcornbörse erwarben die Besucher bei den Achivaren, indem sie persönliche Gedanken zum Thema Wohlstand in ein Aufnahmegerät sprachen. Diese Aufnahmen waren seitdem als Klanginstallation vor Ort am PARADIESPLATZ – Das Innere aus dem Inneren zu hören. Lauschen lohnte sich!

2. PARADIESPLATZ – Forum: Remembrance and Security /// Erinnerung und Sicherheit

For PARADIESPLATZ – das Innere, we temporarily transformed an existing, rather neglected location close to the city centre at the Elbe. Three forums took place there, open happenings that invited people to reflect and exchange ideas about what we hoard, preserve and secure and why, and what is desirable or conceivable as an ideal state in terms of prosperity, memory, security and seeds.

Für PARADIESPLATZ – das Innere veränderten wir temporär einen bestehenden eher vernachlässigten Ort, der zentrumsnah an der Elbe liegt. Dort fanden drei Foren statt, offene Happenings, die zum Nachdenken und Austausch darüber einluden, was wir warum horten, bewahren und sichern und was als Idealzustand in Bezug auf Wohlstand, Erinnerung, Sicherheit und Saat wünschenswert oder denkbar ist.

Northeast Southwest was a project in curatorial collaboration of the Kunsthaus Dresden with HELLERAU European Center for the Arts, the KRAK Center for Contemporary Culture, Bihać, the Performing Arts Institute, Warsaw, the Beirut Art Center, Hammana Artist House, TAP – TEMPORARY. ART. PLATFORM, STATION, Beirut Art Residency, Beirut.

The artistic projects of the independent scene were hosted by Galerie Ursula Walter, Kunsthaus Raskolnikow e.V., Zentralwerk e.V. and riesa efau. Kultur Forum Dresden in cooperation with the Schenkung Sammlung Hoffmann / Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden.

Nordost Südwest war ein transnationales kuratorisches Projekt in einer Zusammenarbeit des Kunsthaus Dresden mit HELLERAU Europäisches Zentrum der Künste, dem Beirut Art Center, Beirut, dem KRAK Center for Contemporary Culture, Bihać, dem Performing Arts Institute, Warschau, Hammana Artist House, TAP – TEMPORARY. ART. PLATFORM, STATION und Beirut Art Residency, Beirut.

Die künstlerischen Projekte der Freien Szene wurden veranstaltet von der Galerie Ursula Walter, dem Kunsthaus Raskolnikow e.V., dem Zentralwerk e.V. und dem riesa efau – Kultur Forum Dresden, in Kooperation mit der Schenkung Sammlung Hoffmann / Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden.
